Goodguys Del Mar Car Show Photos: Trucks, Muscle Cars, Customs, And Hot Rods Galore

(Photos by Wes Allison) When the Goodguys Rod and Custom Association comes to the Del Mar Fairgrounds near San Diego, it is always a great show. The fairground end right at the beach on the Pacific Ocean and the town around the fairgrounds is full of cool restaurants, bars, shops, and more. This event is quintessential Southern California in every way and draws cars, trucks, customs, and muscle cars from all over the western states. Our own Wes Allison was on hand to get some photos so that we could share them with all of you, and as you can tell the weather was just perfect for a weekend car show.

Goodguys shows feature cars and trucks of every shape, size, and style which means that no matter what you like you are likely to find it at a Goodguys Show. With the autocross, car shows, cruising, and more, this is one of those shows that really feels like something special. It’s a destination show for sure with so many cars driving around town before and after the show as well. It’s a great time had by all.

Cool Animation: Take A Look At This Comprehensive Layout Of The Triple Expansion Steam Engines On The Titanic

One of my sons is into the Titanic disaster these days and he has been scarfing up books and stories about the ship and the icy end that befell it. One of the things we have been working through are the engines that powered the behemoth through the water. These massive steam engines were of the triple expansion type and what that means is that they used the same steam three times in three consecutive cylinders. Each cylinder different from the one before to harness as much energy as possible from the ever cooling steam. He was interested in the idea of the steam engine using a condenser in order to effectively create a “closed loop” system for the water being used in the boilers. Making A 4000 Mile Road Trip In An LS Swapped, Chassis Swapped, Chopped, Channeled, Custom 1950 Buick

Brent from Half Ass Kustoms, and his lovely wife, headed off from their house and pointed their car west for a road trip vacation that had them going from Manitoba to British Columbia. But since they only drive cool old iron, there was no other vehicle they wanted to roll in than their 1950 Buick. But this is no ordinary Buick. Nope, this one is chopped, channeled, engine and chassis swapped, and so much more. Not only did they road trip this thing back and forth to BC, but they also stopped at some killer hot rod shops to check out what was going on there as well.
