Barra Bomb: Watch This Mustang Make 1,200hp On A Hub Dyno And Then Hit The Streets – Aussie Hot Rod!

Now this thing is nasty. You are about to see one of the cleanest Mustangs we’ve ever laid eyes on hammer out 1,200hp on the hub dyno using a Ford Barra straight six which still has its stock crank installed! The turbocharged and highly modified version of the venerable Ford inliner from Australia is sitting in a wonderfully clean early Mustang and while the owner liked going 9.50s with ease at the strip, he was ready for more. And boy did he get it.

This video is cool because it takes us beyond some dyno pulls. We get to se the car on the street and we learn the history of the machine from the owner who has basically built the thing by himself from the ground up, outside of the engine program. Of course as we all know by now, the Barra six is kind of the Aussie LS engine in many ways. They were made in huge quantities and they can be had for a song. If you want to make solid power, you can basically score one from the wreckers and turbocharge it. If you want to make enormous power, you can still keep many factory parts but you have to invest in other areas and that is exactly what the owner of this Mustang has done.

Outside of the power and speed, the car itself is amazing. The guy has custom made kid seats in the back so that the family can cruise this thing. It seems pretty mild mannered until that Garrett turbo lights off and then all hell tries to break loose. Trust us, you’ll see.
