Is there anything cooler than racing history? I’m not sure that there is. Clearly I have been a freak for it over the course of my life and so many others are as well. This time we are talking about Formula One history and the tightest race in the history of the series, the 1971 Italian Grand Prix. It is pretty amazing that this race, now fifty years old still stands as the tightest wrap of them all. The margin may not phase drag racers, but .001 is wild when you think of an entire Grand Prix coming down to the wire.

In this video you get the context of the time, the machines, and the people. You get an awesome blow by blow account of the race, and loads of vintage photography and information to back it all up. It’s one thing to know a stat but it is wholly another to go into depth and give all the reasoning behind it.

Army trucks, we love them. Why? Well for the same reason we love functional hot rods that are lacking in amenities but are heavy in ass kicking ability.
