This Hill Climb Racing Video From Scotland Will Blow Your Mind – Incredible Speed and Skill At The Donue Hill Climb

We’ve always loved looking at hill climb footage over the years but this right here makes the majority of the guys we have showed in the past look like they were cruising barcaloungers through the English countryside. Here, you will see a camera mounted on the top of an open wheeled race car attacking an event called the Doune Hill Climb in Scotland. The driver, who may or may not be superhuman is a dude named Jos Goodyear (and if we were the tire company we’d be on the phone with this cat NOW) and to say that he is both fearless and exceptionally talented is selling him way short. Hill climb racing has been a staple of automotive competition in Europe for a long, long time. There’s limited hill climb action here in the USA with events that range from the huge like Pikes Peak and the Mount Washington hill climb to vintage events that are far less intense than what you will see here. This 380hp, 190ci Naturally Aspirated Corvair Engine At 9,000 RPM Is The Angriest Thing You Will Hear Today (Dyno Video)

In the realm of cool dyno videos, this one hits on the top end of the “good stuff” meter. We’re not sure that we have ever run a Corvair engine dyno video before but if we have, this one would trump it. The engine you are going to see is a full race unit designed to be run in an NHRA comp eliminator dragster. If we were guessing we’d say like an E-Econo Dragster or somewhere in that range. That class would make the car weight in at about 1100lbs or so as this motor measures out to 190ci. Like all econo-dragster entries this engine would be backed by an automatic transmission. The class limits carbs to a single 4bbl but we’re guessing in this case the pair of two bbls meet that requirement due to the layout of the engine. So this little beast makes 380hp and 250 lb/ft at 9,100 RPM and it sounds like all of that on the video you’ll watch below. It’s Memorial Day today, and I hope that this year it holds a little more meaning and that we all realize a little more appreciation is in order. Memorial Day is a day to remember and honor those people who gave their lives in order to defend our way of life here in America. It is important to remember that this is a different holiday than Veteran’s Day and that this distinction has perhaps never been more important to realize. As the world watches teachers, accountants, plumbers, software developers, and other regular folks in Ukraine defending their country, we are reminded that throughout our own history there have been many many people who have helped to defend it, many with and many without a military uniform.
