New One On Us: Watch This Boat Make Repeated Pulls On A Prop Dyno – This Is Pretty Cool

Well this is awesome and something that we really didn’t know existed. A prop dyno for boats is something we should have known about. Hell, if you have a hub dyno for cars and trucks why wouldn’t you have a prop dyno for boats. This video shows said prop dyno being applied to a killer hunk of aquatic hot rod that is packing a massive supercharged engine in its aft quarters.

No, we not have the horsepower numbers but if this thing is making less than 1,000 to 1,200hp with all that blower on it we would be surprised.

Making speed on the water requires incredible power. I have recently fallen down the historical rabbit hole of WWII PT Boats and their history is fascinating. They had three 1,500hp engine stuffed in them and they’d make somewhere north of 45 knots on the right seas. That’s a nearly 80ft long boat! This boat must be a real rocket with that engine and boy does it sound good.

There’s something pretty weird about watching a boat run full throttle on land but we like it!

Army trucks, we love them. Why? Well for the same reason we love functional hot rods that are lacking in amenities but are heavy in ass kicking ability.
